This Is How The Sahabah Really Memorised Quran (6 min read)
Having already mentioning how the beloved Prophet (ﷺ) memorised the Qur’ān through the lens of the Qur’ān and the process of revelation – it is time to reflect on how this extended to the noble companions (the sahābah – may Allāh be pleased with them all).
What is the reality behind how the companions memorised the Qur’ān?
There’s a lot to learn from them and their students (the tābi’een).
Qur’ān Memorisation Ideas For Busy People (5 min read)
As a parent or a busy person, making time for memorisation can be difficult. You might only have 30 mins a day. How do you use it?
There are fathers and mothers who work in busy professions (medicine in particular) and run their own practice who have memorised. So it’s not impossible. Nothing works against you as much as you work against it.
How To Use The Singaporean Method To Memorise Quran (4 mins)
I want to share another method with you today that is known as the Singaporean method. It’s a very interesting method rooted in a repetition system.

📖 THE DIARY OF A HĀFIZ
This is where we try to learn by watching others memorise. Today I share a roundup reporting the progress of a brother and a sister in their pursuit of memorising the Qur'ān.
Muhammad, 35, trying to memorise an-Nisā’
Background: After forgetting what he memorised (half the Qur'ān) and kept struggling to start again. So he decided to share his diary and mission with us. After 19 weeks of struggle, he finally started again. It took him a few months to do a few Juz’ and now he’s been on Surah an-Nisā’ for a while.
What he accomplished last week (days 199 to 205): "I stuck by revising a quarter a day and covered the 2nd and half of the 3rd Juz’. I also started the 5th Juz’ again up to 7 ruku’. Some of the days I simply looked and recited because it went past midnight. Mostly I have done everything from memory."
Revised targets: “My aim to continue to focus on a smaller amount to memorise from now on, instead of a ruku’ at a time, is still on perhaps from now on.”
Aishah, a 5th-year Medical Student who is also a student of ‘Arabiyyah
Background: She started hifdh when she was a child and memorised half. But recently started again from Juz' 1. She's been memorising and revising while also studying medicine.
Week 26:
“Hifdh: Last week, I completed the Hifdh of Juz 12 and started Juz 13. AlhamduliLlah. I memorised 15 pages(Pages 237-251 of a 15-lined Qur'an) and consolidated the portions during the weekend. I also recited to my teacher.
Sabqi: AlhamduliLlah, it was constant throughout last week.
Manzil: Still at 1 and half Juz daily. AlhamduliLlah, it was constant.
What's new?
I'm trying to create a plan to repeat my Manzil more during Ramadan i.e. to make them even stronger. I pray Allah makes it easy.”
