This Amazing Hafiz Recites The Entire Quran In One Standing (12 min read)
In the UK, he is considered to be amongst the top tier of Huffādh. But it wasn’t always this way. I’m about to share the story of a young Hāfidh whose story is an immense inspiration and source of motivation.
This is the story of ‘Abdullāh Hanook.
‘Abdullāh Hanook recently did something you wouldn’t imagine someone as young and someone from the UK being capable of doing.
You hear about Sayyidunā ‘Uthmān ib ‘Affān, Tamīm ad-Dārī, Sa’ī ibn Jubayr and Imām al-A’zam Abu Hanīfah (may Allāh be pleased with them all) reciting the entire Qur’ān in a single rak’ah. Qatādah who would complete the Qur’ān every night in the final days of Ramadān. Imām ash-Shāfi’ī who would complete the Qur’ān twice daily.
How to Revise Quran Using the Quarter A Day Method (5 min read)
I have mentioned many ways to revise the Qur’ān but recently I was in a conversation with brother Muhammad who is sharing his Qur’ān memorisation journey with us in the Diary of A Hāfiz.
After reading about the rule of five and how many strong Huffādh revise 5 ajzā’ a day, brother Muhammad asked me whether there was a way to achieve the same but in an easier way. How would it be possible to revise similar, if not the same amounts as those that make a full completion of the Qur’ān every week? This was the idea.
Considering that Muhammad has been revising a quarter each day for the past month, it was beneficial to use this as a starting point or foundation for the revision method.
A Guide To Ḥifẓ in Ramadān (3 mins)
With Ramadān fast approaching, it’s the most perfect time to start to address where we stand. For those of you looking forward to beginning Qur’ān memorisation in Ramadān or are wondering how to memorise the Qur’ān in Ramadān. Or perhaps you have several questions concerning how you can navigate the month with your Ḥifẓ.
Here’s a quick guide.

📖 THE DIARY OF A HĀFIZ
This is where we try to learn by watching others memorise. Today I share a roundup reporting the progress of a brother and a sister in their pursuit of memorising the Qur'ān.
Muhammad, 35, trying to memorise an-Nisā’
Background: After forgetting what he memorised (half the Qur'ān) and kept struggling to start again. So he decided to share his diary and mission with us. After 19 weeks of struggle, he finally started again. It took him a few months to do a few Juz’ and now he’s been on Surah an-Nisā’ for a while.
What he accomplished last week (days 206 to 212): "I revised all the 4 Juz’ and memorised up to half of the 5th Juz’. I missed last night due to falling asleep. I am going to try increasing the number of times I repeat the quarters in revision as discussed with Qari."
Revised targets: “Ramadan begins and I hope to recite a khatm and continue my Hifz.”
Aishah, a 5th-year Medical Student who is also a student of ‘Arabiyyah
Background: She started hifdh when she was a child and memorised half. But recently started again from Juz' 1. She's been memorising and revising while also studying medicine.
Week 27:
“My break is over and I'll be resuming school today. The break was a blessing as I was able to do a lot of revision and did the Hifdh of almost 3 Ajza, liLahi-l -Hamd.
Hifdh: I've completed the memorisation of Juz 13. I memorised 10 pages(Pages 252-261 of a 15-lined Qur'an) and consolidated the portions during the weekend. I also recited to my teacher. I'm now a Juz away from completion, AlhamduliLlah.
Sabqi: AlhamduliLlah, it was constant throughout last week.
Manzil: 1 and half Juz daily. AlhamduliLlah, it was constant and it has gotten way better than I started the break. AlhamduliLlah.
What's new?
My schedule will change for Ramadan but I'm yet to figure out how exactly it will be( I'm still working on it). I'm hoping to memorise the last Juz, do more revision and do a number of Khatams. May Allah preserve us beyond Ramadan and make us benefit from it, Aaminnn.”
